Kay's Garden

Kay is a long time Garden Club member who has lived in Castlegar for many years. Almost every year she shares plants from her garden for the annual plant Sale, and we get to go and divide plants with other members. It is wonderful to be in community with other like-minded people, but in addition, Kay's garden owns a special place in my heart.

It is a small, densely planted woodland garden, and I love woodland gardens.  They are subtle and beautiful, especially in spring when their small, vibrant blooms are hidden under leaf mold, intricate buds promise large petals, and twisted branches are laden with catkins. She has a wonderful mature witch hazel there - one of my favorite small trees and many hellebores... the soil is rich with worms and there are many-coloured violets, which I also love in Spring...
Kay is surrounded in beauty...♥
