Fibre Painting & Vintage Windows

I started making these windows a few years ago. Previously I had used dried flowers and leaves, and then I developed this method of fibre painting, which offers much more versatility and freedom.

All of the windows are different, and are inspired by gardens, nature, colours, a swatch of fabric, anything that catches my eye. The fibres are attached to the back of the window using an acrylic medium, and the produce different effects - silk and fabric will behave differently from bamboo and wool. The windows we collect from anywhere, in various states of condition, some of them are painted, but most are sanded and left in their original condition...
